I split my childhood between the suburbs of Florida and rural Ontario, where much of my family farmed. My mom always said I was raised in a conglomeration of lifestyles, and she wasn't wrong. Being just one generation removed from farm life, I grew up surrounded by family involved in hobby farming, row crops, hay production, dairy cattle, and many other agricultural practices.
I was fortunate to experience that way of life regularly, but never for long enough. Every time I returned home to Florida, I found myself wishing I was back on a farm, getting my hands dirty and helping wherever I could.
When I left Florida to attend the University of Tennessee, I found my way back to agriculture through Biosystems Engineering (aka. agricultural engineering). It gave me a deeper appreciation for the connection between food, land, and the systems that support both, and I loved learning the intricacies of land management and preservation in a modern world.
When David and I met, he welcomed me into his lifestyle on his family's farm, and I was instantly reminded of the feeling I had been chasing since childhood. Now a few years down the road, together we've embraced a way of life that values working with the rhythms of the seasons, caring for the land, and growing food in harmony with both people and the natural environment.
David's lifelong farming experience and practical skills, combined with my passion for learning, experimenting, and trying new ideas, have led us down the path of producing our own clean, wholesome food. What started as a shared passion has grown into something much bigger, and we're excited to share that journey (and its harvests) with our community.
